THE DAM’s mission is to preserve the story of digital assets: NFTs, blockchain art, memecoins, DeFi - everything that’s emerged out of “Web3” since the culture began.

About a year ago in March of 2024, we realized a proper initiative to preserve the history we’re living day-in & day-out must be pushed forward, before it disappears into a bunch of broken links, buried tweets, and forgotten Discord channels.

THE DAM isn’t just about archiving crypto art... It’s about capturing the evolution of digital assets since the Bitcoin Whitepaper was first published in 2008, and the cultural shift that grew out of that cypherpunk movement.

The emergence of Web3 has changed how we create, how we organize, how we express value, and how we imagine what’s possible…

It’s given immense power to digital artists, collectors, communities, and crypto degens all over the world. It’s united all of us together, enjoying & creating in this space we all refuse to leave, no matter what the market conditions are.

We’re building the first IRL museum dedicated to preserving the history of this incredible movement. A space where anyone can walk in, experience, and understand the chaos, the beauty, the breakthroughs, and the spirit of Web3.

This is Web3’s own museum - a museum that’s not curated from the outside, but that’s built by those who lived it.

At THE DAM, we’re not only focused on honoring the key pioneers of our space, but also on uplifting a new wave of emerging artists & builders.

We’re telling the unbiased story of the Web3 space with clarity, care, and context. Through that unbiased storytelling, we’re preserving the work, the memories, the data, the energy, and the essence of our space for 100s of years to come.

This museum is by no means just an “archive” or solely a place to display JPEGs. THE DAM is a cultural infrastructure for Web3. It’s a place where 30 years from now, we’ll remember where we came from, and we’ll understand what it meant to live during these wild times.

We’re building THE DAM day by day, brick by brick, because our space deserves a permanent institution built by one of our own - an incredible museum to call home.
