The simple reality is, we’re losing our digital asset history every day that passes without a proper preservation effort in place.

Web3 culture wasn’t built in museums or academic archives. It was built in the trenches of Discord servers, now-defunct marketplaces, sketchy NFT mints, long Twitter threads, and hard-to-read block explorers. And that makes it fragile. Screenshots get lost. Tweets get deleted. Platforms go offline. Metadata breaks. Projects vanish overnight…

That’s why our mission to preserve our digital asset history is non-negotiable.

At THE DAM, we’re building an evolving, unbiased, permanent archive of digital asset history – one that captures not only the work and the people involved, but the real context behind it all.

This isn’t just about preserving JPEGs - it’s about preserving the story behind our space.

We’re archiving early experiments, landmark moments, wild rug pulls, iconic memes, DAO implosions, market crashes, community uprisings, cultural turning points, and so much more…

We’re preserving both the beautiful and the messy parts of Web3, because they both matter.

We aim to store as much as possible of this preserved record of unbiased storytelling on-chain, using tools and protocols that align with the permanence and values of Web3 itself.

What doesn’t actually live on-chain, we’ll preserve through documentation, curation, storytelling and IRL physical assets that bring it back to life and retain its relevance.

If we don’t take significant measures to preserve digital asset history now, we risk losing all the important nuances of this story. We risk it being told by people who haven’t actually lived the experience, and the true story will get lost or rewritten.

We’re here to make sure it doesn’t.
